wiper switch question

The 89 TII I just bought has the imfamous wiper switch thing going on. Looking at Ted's site, it doesn't seem to hard to repair it myself, but a forum member has 2 switches for sale, one off an 86 sport model and the other off an 88 TII. Are they wiper switches he has interchangable with my 89II. He has them for a great price I just want to make sure they'll work in my car (since mazdatrix has differing part numbers for them, I didn't know if I could use them).

Thanks

We had this question pop up recently - might want to do a search?&nbsp I don't remember if it was an actual functional swap, but I remember the part about interference of the ***** on the instrument cluster trim...

Ted's right, you should have searched.

But the only one that would work would be the 88 T2 and you would have to use the 89+ *****.

The sport didn't have rear wiper BTW

It's funny that this comes up at this time. In my 88 TII, I actually had a MAJOR problem with my wipers. They would never turn off. They stayed on at all times in the lo speed. So I removed the switch from my old 89 GXL, which only had one speed that worked (lo), but that's better then none. So I drop it into my 88, and it fits PERFECTLY! And I plug everything in, and the WEIRDEST thing is, ALL speeds work!!! All in all, I didn't have a problem putting an 89 into my 88...
