Wiper Switch Problem.

couple of days ago, wiper switch was working fine, cu tthe car off......cut it back on, the wiper switch no longer worked (the wipers wont cut off unless you pull the fuse)......k though it was the switch, replaced the switch in the steering column (complete switch)....works fine......cut the car off, cut it back on.....this switch no longer works, the wipers wont cut off unless you pull the fuse........any suggestions?

Sounds like a bad wiper motor

Motor is on the top of the passenger side firewall. Does not often fail. Cheapest replacement would be to pull one from a junk yard. Read the FSM cuz I believe you have to remove the linkage from under the drain grill.

if the motor went, the wipers wouldnt work at all would they?

There are position switches that complete the circuits as the motor moves. If you went through two switches that is what next I would be looking at.

Since the position switches are in the motor; the only way to fix the problem is to rebuild or replace the motor.
