I just did this. You don't need any WD-40 more than likely. Just pull the arm upand use a flathead on the backside prying it up.

Oh and I used some stuff that turns rust into black primer first, then used some rustoleum, then clear coat. I had bad experiences with thinking I sanded all the rust away and it just came back.

I dunno man, I just did mine this weekend and had no problems. They are only sitting on the threaded "rods." I thought they were stuck too, but its just a bit of wiggling to it. I pulled the arms away from the windshield and pulled up some. Then tried putting the flathead on the other side at the same time and they came right off.

Once in they rest at an angle to the thread. Had the same problem till I figure what was happening. Make sure you lift flat up against the downward tilt then lift straight up. Pull the wiper to the standing upward position. Maybe try vice grip padded with a rag to pull it off.

Thats funny I just did the same thing yesterday they turned out looking great I didn't know anyone else had done this. First sanded them with a rotor tool then primered them with 2 coats then painted them with three looks absolutley great. No need to buy new ones.

My wipers took a lot of wiggling to get them off the splined shafts.

I used a black epoxy spray paint that is made to touch up appliance powdercoat. Worked very well!

It didn't make mine very shiny. Just look like they are brand new. I clearcoat everything I paint, just so it will hold up better.
