Question Window Regulator, 90 FC3C, n/a Anyone have idea on cable length?

Ok, pulled drivers automatic window regulator, and upon taking cover off cable housing cover, cables just, well , tweaked> Not even round, or straight, just everywhere and frayed at ends.

Question, pretty specific, even the STEALERSHIP, had no idea on cable lengths. I know that one is longer, but don't know how much. Simple math if I need to, but don't want to, if answer is readily available.

Thanks for the photos Jack, and explanation in archives jchuang97, and BTW- Mazda quoted me 529.95 for new one. I **** my pants, sorry. Went to Wal-Mart, in bycycle section, brake and cable Fix Kit, perfect match, with extra ferrules and caps, 4 lengths, 8 ferrules, and 4 caps, a whopping ---WITH TAX, 4.54.

Lengths anyone, if possible, and tomorrow will post pictures and details on how I did it, via Jack and jchuang97. Simple fix, for 5 bucks.

'dog, I had enough of my old cable left to measure on one cableand estimate on the other. If there is not enough of the old cable left to measure, keep in mind that the key is that after the cables are properly tensioned around the drum, you must allow enough length on each cable for the window to go all the way up and all the way down. And you should have a couple of wraps left when it is in the full up or down position.

It really is that simple.

And by the way, I bought some of the best bike cable money could buy in the dallas metroplex and I still spent less than $20 on cable. Don't cheap out on the cable. That cable from Wal-Mart may be just fine, but after I restrung once, I never want to have to do it again. Would really suck if your cables don't hold up cause you cheeped out.

Good luck!

Jack, my friend, I just spent 30 bucks for a 'MAZDA' thermostat, bought AFM, TPS (used), changed out thermowax, O-2 sensor, coolant level sensor, coolant temperature sensor, oil filter housing o-rings, New Belts, Water Pump, oil filter twice, (had to throw that in) air (2)filters, fuel filters (2) NGK plugs, (2) plug wires . I have owned for six months!!!!

Money is not an issue. I don't have any left. And actually, the kit comes with the the cable already encased in same sleeve. 3 out of 4 pieces are at least a foot longer. And stated, also have ferrules and caps.

And I spoiled myself with a 6 pack of Mickeys Big Mouth with the money I saved for getting my idle ****, again, at 800 today. And Jack, no grease on glass, and it took a whole, what 45 minutes pulling it off. A whole day to put in, but life is good. Thanks again, and I might see us becoming business partners in the GEN 2, RX only, REGULATOR REPAIR business.

And if you really think its that much of a difference, I'll get the other tomorrow. Your a good man Jack, thanks.

PEACE THE DOG
