Will this turbo blanket spring hold up?

Like the title says, will the spring I'm using to secure my turbo blanket hold up? Will the heat make it snap?

I think a piece of straight wire will be better. The spring will become less stiff after it's heated.

In this case, less stiff wouldn't be an all bad thing. I fought with it for a while and had to really stretch the thing to get it on. I'm actually worried that because it's so tight that heating it up repeatedly will weaken it at the hooks. I bought some thin cable but have lost the crimper large enough. Using the spring is alot easier, cheaper and quicker...just not sure if the spring is best.

What do you stand to lose if it breaks?

I think it would be OK as there would be a lot of wire to dissipate the heat on that spring.

I used safety wire for the turbo blanket on my OEM S4 turbo. It made it much easier to get around all the lines and moving parts.
