do a search pls.

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ridgeport+port

and a quote from No7Yet (hey brandon, i have the car running perfectly now! http://photos.yahoo.com/kep0ne/ )

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you enjoy...

- blowing engines every 30k
- blowing 5k on each engine
- not making ANY torque
- not making ANY useable power below about 4000 RPM
- being heard coming a mile and a half away (LOUD!!!)
- idling at 1.5-2k RPM
- getting 10-12 MPG
- cruising around at 5k like a motorcycle (well, that sounds pretty cool, but...)
- overheating if you don't continually drive the car

So, no, I wouldn't recommend it And no, with a bridgeport there's WAAAAY too much overlap for forced induction - you'd be blowing your intake charge straight out the exhaust ports

Brandon

This is actually a bit of a myth. There've been many successful bridgeport turbo engines.

Von, the question is not whether you can do it with the stock turbo, but rather why would you bother. You'd get better results spending less money on an upgraded turbo.

the stock turbo is too small for the stock ports... let alone anything else.

Hmmm I don't remember any of those drawbacks when i had my bridgeport, apart from the fuel economy Why do people insist that you have to cruise at 5000rpm and they have no torque??
As far as the standard turbo goes, I went to a circuit race meeting recently and there was a relatively quick Rx-4 there (not as quick as the 2 1st gen rx-7's, one was a 13b bridge and one was a 13b turbo). I assumed it was just a bridgeport, but when I had a look under the bonnet it had a stock turbo on it aswell. It obviously worked (it wasn't slow by any stretch), but I think the turbo is far too restrictive.

my friend just sold his. i had a chance to drive it
its a 13b bridge with over 40k on it, it had more low rpm grunt than my gsl-se is quiet and got mid 20's mpg on the way to sevenstock. the only drawback was part throttle under 4k.....

You're in Cali, man, so you'd probably have big emission probs.
