will this work or not .also is there a less expensive stand alone ecu than haltech

Can the transmission be made to work; Yes. You will need either a custom driveshaft or a N/A one and a different part on the Diff. Will it break within a short period of time; most likely Yes!!!

In a nut shell: don't do it.

For standalones, the Megasquirt is probably the cheapest Standalone on the market and can be made to run an RX7 quite well. As with any standalone and even more so with megasquirt, you will need to hire someone to tune it for you or do a lot or reading and learning so you can do it yourself.
