i just recently picked up a mint 1986 RX7 one owner garage kept it's whole life. it had sat since 2006 inside but had not been started. when i got it to the shop i threw a fresh battery in her and it fired up the first time and went strait to 3000rpms and then slowly went down, all this time smoking ALOT. finally after about 15 min of idling it cleared and it was running great i mean GREAT! i was accually surprised at how well it was doing so i drove it untouched all 4th of july weekend and decided to do a tune up on sunday. after the tune-up (air filter, NGK plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil and oil filter) it started to idle really ruff and wanted to die, driving it runs great it just would not idle though. sooo going back and looking through everything i did i found a broken ground going from the harness to this little black box right above the fuel filter i just installed. it broke right off at the box and can not be fixed, i'll have to get a new one i know. now i read that this is for the oil pressure gauge but could this have also caused the bad idle? or something else i did? i figured everything new would be good for it but now it woun't run at all

make sure you did not get your spark plug wires switched around.

nahh, i was very careful about changing the plugs and wires when i did them. this is my first time working on a RX7 and i really didn't want to mess up that whole leading/trailing system so i did each plug wire and spark plug one at a time.
