Good evening all. I am currently going through with an auto>manual conversion with my 1990 RX-7 GTU and I know someone who has an S4 transmission just lying around waiting for me. Would this tranmission work with my conversion or not? Anything stopping it? Anything I have to change (besides the obvious) ?

 

They are very similar. Only thing that might not be the same is the tranny cross member, but that difference might just be on the T2.

 

As long as you get the S4 crossmember you'll be fine. The only difference in the tranny's besides the OD gear is that the crossmember attached differently to the cases. The mounting loacation on the body is the same.
