Will catback exhaust increase boost?
Will catback exhaust increase boost?
Hi all,
I recently bought a jdm 1991 rx7 FC.
It is bone stock with the original exhaust system with the cat still installed (jdm FC only has one main cat)
I am planning to get a catback exhaust to make the car look and sound a bit better. (Maybe HKS hi-power silent)
I just want to know if a catback exhaust will increase boost pressure by much if I keep the cat installed?
I am hoping any increase will be minimal, because I don't want to have to deal with boost creep or install a fuel cut defender.
Thanks

you'll be fine. you may or may not see an increase in response but boost creep or an undesired increase in boost pressure wont be a problem. the stock cat and downpipe will see to that lol
