Wierd turbo question.

The damn e-clip on my turbo's wastegate actuator arm came off. ANyone know what size that lil thing is. I tried buying a pack of e-clips at autozone and not a single one would fit. Either too small or too big. Anyone got any ideas?

these folks are the devil dont listen to them... i got mine from an orielly's in town they came in a lil green box.. you can go to any big hardware store chain and pick up a few different sizes.... why the hell would you go to a junkyard and get an old rusted e-clip.

maybe because it would be a good fit... he said that he went to an o'reily's type store and the kit didn't have the right one in it. besides where i'm from no one even knows what the rust belt is, much less o'reilys.

as far as mazda hardware i've found their bolts and clips to be leaps and bounds better than anything you can buy in generic hardware stores even after 15 years... but that's just me, sorry i made a suggestion.

I was under my car tonight, so I checked the size of the rod on the switching actuator (all the clips on the turbo controls appear to be the same size). The rod diameter was .237 (exactly 6mm), and the groove diameter was .210 (5.25mm). I'm not sure my caliper fit all the way into the groove, so that diameter could actually be a little smaller than what I measured.

Hmm, so it could possibly be 5mm. Well thats gives me better idea of what I'm lookin for. At first I figured I could drill a small hole through, and run a cotter pin with a thin flat washer behind it to still let it move freely. But I found theres not enough excess room on the wastegate shaft to allow me to do that. So I'm just gonna have to go on a hunt to find those clips. I dont have an O'rlys. We only got AutoZone and Advanced. Although we have a Napa, they never have anything.
