wierd tps behavior? no idle

87 n/a se
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/omp-line-sucking-air-490865/
that thread showes what i thought the problem was befor. because the tps wasnt showing an volts.

so i thought it was dead so i have a new one on its way. well i took mine off today cuz i was bored. and i wound up testing the ohm off the car and it actualy does show reading.

so i cleaned connections then warmed up car.

but car still wont idle right

---------------------
update. i tuned tps proper way to 1ohm with it not connected and engine warm. while warming engine the dash started beeping a steady beep while i was holding it @ 2-3rpm. is this just power stearing fluid? cuz it smoked after the beeping started. then rpm bounced a lil bit when i was holding it to warm it up.
(not coolant buzzer its a steady beep i'll look up beeps in FAQ)

any way

tps clip coming from wire harness to tps tested at 5 volts on the red wire.
i do not know what to test the other to for.
red = A
black = B
green =C
-A B-
-C-
so rotary buffs. what might it be?
ignition? ecu? fuze? ground? short? wireing crossed?

found in FAQ

1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.

that would be my beep code. no abnormalty. its just me holding it above 2200

does this sound like a grounding problem
i cant hold the car at idle manualy to tune the tps. i cant hold it at 2,000 rpm because it is now starting to bounce up and down 200-500 rpm.

is this a sign of grounding issue?

that puff of white smoke sure does not sound good, hope nothing blew up inside, if it did, might be time for a rebuild.

i'd just wait till the new tps came and see if that works, then start ripping it apart.

The TPS will not cause these symptoms. Just unplug the damn thing will simply prove this.

heh well yeah i'm just planing out the ezest to the hardest. i'll to a vac leak test tomarrow. just need some one to hold it at 2 while i poke around with the carb cleaner and tube
if not that then ground wireing. if not that then injectors and fpr and hook up a fuel pressure gauge so when i get it back together and i still have the problem i can tell if its fuel pump. if its that then swap it. if not that. and still have the problem. does any one want an rx7?

unplug your idle motor and if the idle goes back to normal then theirs your problem... i had the same thing happen to me the wiring to my idle motor were corroded and grounding out on each other that resulted my idle to bounce up and down, i rewired everything and used heat shrink for extra protection now it idles like a dream..

try it out let me know

Last year, I fought idle problems on my 87 TII. I replaced all the rubber hoses and gaskets, then adjusted stuff till I was blue in the face.
Turned out to be a vacuum leak I missed, and I understand it's a common failure on the TII.
Check the rubber plenum that goes from the AFM to the turbo intake. I found a 1inch long split from the turbo end lengthwise on the hose - almost un-noticeable. I repaired it with RTV, then replaced the clamp with one that I could tighten very snug. Result: rock solid idle at 750RPM.

Check that plenum.

If you pull off the UIM, just make sure nothing falls in the intake.....

Anyways the BACV wont cause her symptoms but can cause similar in a different scenario. We went over large VAC leaks she insures its not that. Then its fuel. 90% of the time a bounce off idle is fuel.

no i wont let **** fall in intake. if so i'll take of lower manafold. duct tape <3 for manafolds. bacv wanst the isue. i recorded what it was like with the bacv off. it did idle but not for long and not steady and didnt happen the next few times i tried. thus. not the BAcV

when it was idleing i sprayed carb cleaner on most the vac lines befor the idle died.
i didnt get any responce from the lines on throtle body or when i sprayed it under the manafold

i will host the videos then put them up. i will check the intake. might be the issue. but i doubt. worth a shot to look.

i am going with it has a fuel issue. i did take off intakes and rails. the plastic ends on the 2ndary injectors did look iffy so the primary were in bad shape aswell. i'll get the videos up asap
