wierd idle

wierd idle

when i bought my car it didnt come with an idle screw. and my friend use'd a zip-tie, but still idle's high. and sometimes it sounds like its streetport. goes from 1 to 1500 rpm. what can i use to help this problem until i can find the piece i need.

Sounds like the car has been hacked.

Get a copy of the Factory Service Manual from the FAQ and look closely at what has been done to the throttle body. It may be as simple as following the procedures to adjust the idle, or a little more complicated (replacing parts that have been removed or tampered with).

Likely a TPS issue as well causing the hunting.
