Your FC turned out very nice Carl..... it has come a long way from when I saw it about a year ago in pieces. Can't wait to see it at the NorCal track days.....

Motivates me to get my car further along.....

Thumbs up Awesome!!!

Carl,

Your car is absoulutely beautiful!!!

Everyone should appreciate a work of art as your RX-7clearly is and the amount of time it takes to get it to the point it is. WOW!!! I love it!!!

I too have a dark blue metal flake RX-7 and I love that it is different. If everyone's car looked the same, then I think that would suck.

Mad props to you and your creation.

Michael

Thanks guys. YES, the car is Track only, the wing is functional. Three things re the wing, #1- I am making custum mounts that are more substantial than the ones suplied by APR, that will handle the downforce that WILL be created. #2- the wing weighs around 3 pounds, find me a park bench that weighs threepounds, and I'll watch you sit on it #3- we will be experimenting with height, the wing may need to go higher for max DF, but it is functional at its present height based on the Stock APR mounts that broke. OH, now you want the lights to work .... The stockers are still hooked up, I am re-wiring the engine bay, so the '99 spec lights are not wired currently. Carl

Uh, somebody mentioned the tire girl- Pics?

Seriously, if the lights didn't work and the doors were welded shut, I would still need some "alone time" with this car and a big ole handful of jergen's

The car is a one off, custom, not a kit. Every piece has been custom made(max 10 of each of the nose, and hood exist), and then reshaped to blend the angular lines of the FC, and the rounded profile of the FD. End result is the "KIT" you see here. Try APR, MazdaSpeed, AtiHun Racing, Rotary Extreme, Alan Sensier Design, Tripoint, and my crazy vision of what an FC Track Monster should look like. I want the competition to pull over when they see me in their mirrors, so I don't have to scratch my paint in the turns

Wow. Simply... wow. I'm not a big fan of the nose but everything else is absolutely stunning. **** even the nose is stunning regardless of my personal taste for it.

Your FC is what most FCs only aspire to be. Crazy is as sane only dreams, and your FC is absolutely insane!

I wish I had more words to convey what I am trying to say, but I am at a sheer loss for words. So much for eloquence--see what beauty can do? Thanks for the inspiration...

"Tire Girl" revisited

My wife has graciously agreed to model the car in the near future, front, and rear BTW these tires are the reason for the widebody, and they are what is on the car now...

Well, yeah, you actually have a reason for the widebody. I don't like the looks of them per se, but they do look better with those tires than the car would look without the widebody.

In answer to some PMs I have recieved regarding the Aero on the car; The side openings will have ducts in them (which will be sealed)to direct all that air to the brakes via AWR ducting. The center openings will be boxed, partioned(IC/Raditor/oil coolers) and sealed to the undertray(and directed up to the hood ducts). The front undertray is a flat bottom that extends to the front cross member. The top surface of the hood will have additional openings ALA the EVO VIII. These openings will have a marginally larger in total area than the front openings to further aid in evacuating the under hood air. The front fenders may be louvered to add front downforce as required, and I anticipate a slightly larger wing in the future to balance the DF created by the splitter, any louvering we do, and any additional winglets we add to the sides of the nose, or dams added to the splitter(those not for DF, but for attaching air to the sides of the car). We will be experimenting with wing height as well. We are on the low side in terms of wing placement currently. As you can tell we have a tremendous amount testing to do to dial in the aero. Expect at least a diffuser (like the World Challenge Vipers) , and/or a venturi tunnel in the rear of the car in its final iteration. Hopefully that begins to answer your concerns Re the aero properties of the car. We also intend to replace the splitter with a more substantial piece. I will now begin the search for sponsors to aid me in bringing the Aero end of things to full fruition . LOTS OF TESTING to follow...

Carl,
Car looks great... a real track beast.

If you actually care about the asthetics of your current track wheels, i'd advise having them powdercoated or annodized black. Perfect for a race wheel, looks great on a dark car, and wile hide the "utilitarian" design a bit.

Agree in theory, but dismount/mount/take apart/reassemble/replace hardware/ three piece wheels= PITA

I will most likeley buy a set of SSR SP1 Proffesor 5 spokes(ala the rotary extreme 3rd gen project car) in a 17x12 335-30-17/17x11 315-35-17 Kumho V710 for "the street" For shows/events/autocross(SM2)

WOW, I'm at a loss for words Carl! (this is Branigan btw)

I wasn't going to post, but reading some of the comments pushed me to chime in. When I saw the car in person, it was sitting on jack stands and had no paint on it. AND IT WAS STILL BEAUTIFUL. What makes a car like this beautiful is the functionality. He didn't make this car for shows or anything, all of the body work was done for a reason. The interior is (at least it was) bare except for a roll cage, a seat, and vital guages. The fact that it came out looking as gorgeous as it does is just icing on the cake. The car deserves all of the respect that it's getting, furthermore... it's the nicest FC I've ever seen.

Yes the color was available on the '97-98 Supra. I own 1 of 21 '97 RSP(royal saphire pearl) Twin turbos made. I am begining my quest for sponsors to help me keep this beast on the track, if you know of a company that is a good fit, and are connected somehow, drop me a line, and we can talk. Thanks everyone for your interest, and enthusiasm, I look forward to getting the car on the track, and dialed in.
BTW, Look for this car to compete in OTC '05
