ON Wideband Setups

PLX DM-5, Who's using it and do you reccomend it? http://cgi.ebay.ca/PLX-DM-5-Wideband...item483dcffef7

I have also been looking at this one from innovate, the MTX-L [http://cgi.ebay.ca/Innovate-MTX-L-Di...item2a0cbe00ed

I am leaning more towards the PLX as I do not have a PC (I'm a mac guy). the PLX also has built-in auto calibration unlike the innovate, which requires a pc to do or to set up fuel type etc. I understand the Innovate is probably a better product, so unless anyone has any evidence "not hearsay" that I should stay clear of the PLX I will go with the Innovate. Keep in mind I am not looking to spend over $300 for a Wideband setup and I am also looking for a setup using a 2 1/16" gauge. These are the best looking ones I have come across IMO.

I use an Innovate wide-band in my 7. Not the same model though. I used an LC1, and have been happy with it. You don't need a PC to calibrate it. Just if you want to use the data logging feature.

I don't have experience with the DM-5, but I've had the PLX m300 since I think 05 and hooked up to the Rtek for logging. Has been great for me, still using the same sensor that it came with. The only problem that i've had with it was a couple of led's died on the screen and they replaced it free even when it was out of warranty.

The MTX-L does look like a nice unit though

I've used the PLX SM-AFR WB controller for logging on the Rtek as well and I've never had a problem with it. I don't have the gauge though, but I'd recommend it.

The innovate has certain nice features but compared to the competition it is a pain to set up and keep working right (grounding for example). The Innovate controller tends to burn out sensors more often than competing units who also use the same Bosch sensor.

I have some partially relevant experience...I've been using the plx m300 for over 50hrs on running engines. I don't know if it's still as accurate as the day I bought it but the sensor still works and shows changes in the a/f ratio which is all I need it to do.

Well when I turbo'd my first car, a 2003 hyundai tiburon, I used the Zeitronix wideband, I absolutly loved it here is a snap shot of back when I had all bolt ons and I tuned it, this is a run through the gears (6spd):
