wich intercooler is better? pics

this on is the one originaly on the car I believe its from a stealth turbo. it measures 11 1/2" wide X 6 1/2" tall X 3" deep.

or this one?

this is off of a volvo I believe and it measures 23 1/2" wide X 17 1/2 tall X (only) 1 1/2" thick. Witch one of these intercoolers do you guys think would be better? Thanks.

the volvo intercooler. Thicker intercoolers do not make up for more surface area (in width and length) Thicker radiators also have problems with heat soak. (heat soak = bad)

The same amount of air is going to move past the same square inch of intercooler, the air will pass quickly through a thin intercooler, cooling off only that 1 1/2" x 1 x 1 of metal. thicker intercooler is going to have that same ammount of air flow by, but need to cool 3" x 1 x 1 of metal. Which one would cool better? the thinner one.

put the larger one in my car and then sell the other one. why you want one? It would go cheap.

oh yeah if you want the larger one they have a couple of them on ebay for cheap just look up volvo intercooler.

My a/c doesn't work anyways so I'm going to take out all that crap. This is purely a weekend car so hey sometimes you just have to sacrifice the luxuries in life

The stealth IC is undersized anyway... stealths use TWO of those, one for each side of the engine.

Oops, I hadn't paid attention to the dimensions, just that you said it was from a stealth. It might be out of a dodge daytona or a chrystler laser then (similar to a mitsu starion)
