call me crazy but somebody tell me why i couldnt do this.... besides me haveing no idea what im doing. i think it would look pretty sick to have an entirely carbon fiber dash, it would beat painting it.

you would be better of either doing it right and molding it or doing it with that CF vinyl junk..

All the curves and corners would make it sorta difficult.

Also, why would you lay CF on your dash? You're defeating the purpose of CF and just adding weight--unless its just for bling, in which case, no comment.

i really didnt thing so much about the "bling" but it would better than the way my dash looks now. not that i think of it... it probly would look like ***. but still the question remains can it be done.

or you could make a dash out of wood, that would probably make as much sense.

would probably be to mask over a messed up cracked dash.

carbon fiber is like fiberglass, you can't just cut it and expect it to look good. it needs to be layed, formed, trimmed and sealed.

check dltreezan's posts, he is working on a CF dash cover and if i'm not mistaken has the mold already done for final production.

I hope you guys planning on getting the CF dash are ready to be madly blinded during the daytime by glare. It'll also reflect on your windshield when light hits the dash. I have the SMP dual CF gauge pod and there is some glare already. Imagine how much more glare you would get with a full CF dash.

soooooooooooooooooooooooo if it was up to me, i would do this:

pull the dash, remove old cracked vinyl covering.

buy approx 2 yards of CF print vinyl, and alot of adhesive and some filler foam.

use filler to fill the cracks and holes (like bondo) then spray the whole thing down with adhesive. apply CF vinyl and call it a day.

it might help to have a hairdryer/small heatgun handy.

well, that post got more attention than i thought it was going to. my thought was basicly, "wouldnt it be cool if i could just lay carbon fiber on my dash instead of painting it?" i wouldnt really care if i melted stuff. i think it would do something pretty cool for the look of the interior. im not talkin the whole Interior done in CF, just parts of the dash and stereo surround(although they already make that). i think it would look pretty awesome.

i think it would be too much of a pain and unless you work with CF and fiberglass all the time i don't think it will look the way you think it will. just an opinion tho...

i have an almost perfect black dash up for grabs if you wanna make an offer on it
