Proper Water removal in the engine
Proper Water removal in the engine
my buddy was working on my car while I was at work and cleaned my air filter and stuck it back in before it was dry, so the car wouldnt start I guess it got water in it. So i was a little frustrated at him and had the hood open and wasnt working on it for a couple days. Earlier in the week we had cut open th eintak box to allowq more air flow, well it rained. And ALOT of water got in it. When I diconeccted the the intake hose to the turbo water poored out, it was only a day or two. I tryed cleanign it out, took out the plugs and cranked for a minute, cleaned it out with atf fluid stuck the plugs in and tried it still wopnt start, pulled the plugs again and still a little water. Whats the best way to get all that water out so I can crank this baby?
The best way that i know of is to get an air compressor and take the spark plugs out and then turn the motor over and over while blowing lots of air through the plug holes. Be sure that you have the accel pedel all the way down to allow the air through the intake to pass while also blowing the the water through. Look at all the fuses too and also disconect the EGI and EGI COMP fuses when turning the engine over as to not pump gas and fire the injectors or it may want to flood. The water shouldnt be that big of a deal, it should pass and start and be fine. Maybe possibly change the plugs out as they may be fouled (never know) and put the new plugs after you blow dry it out. Also after that put a teaspoon's worth of ATF or 2stroke oil in the lower plug holes when you're done to maybe sop up some of the water and seal the compression a little. Good luck man and let us know.
I personally think its more of a the longer you go at it the more sucess you have rather than a special trick to it. If that makes sence.

ok well i took off the inlet to the turbo and saw a lot of water in there, but i dont see a way to get it out of the turbo without taking it out, maybe the compressed air again, i dumped alot of water removal and lubricant to save the turbo and theres no water just all the cleanies, but the liquid in the turbo is stopping the air from passing i guess real reason why it wont start
