why does my tach show rpm when the car is off?

why does my tach show rpm when the car is off?

everyonce and a while when i turn my car off the tach doesnt go all the way down, but most of the time it does. what up with it?
oh and i included a nice pic of my rubber left down my road, can you tell i dont have a lsd? hehe

I'd guess the needle is probably sticking on something. The internal parts of it, I mean.

Its getting hung up on the white face gauges. Same thing happened to a friend of mine when he installed white face gauges on his Ranger. The slight extra thickness causes the needle to get hung up a bit.

um it did that vefore the white faces... but it doesnt always do it either.

Messing with the gauge cluster will almost always screw up the needles.
You need to fix it yourself or replace the broken gauge.
