why do people remove their FTP's?
I'd like to see pics of how you routed the air from the FTP to the air filter.
$20.00 US is 'expensive to replace'? Wow, I thought *I* was a broke cheap-***... lol
If you want to delete them, then delete them...but don't just take them out. If you only have one, get another one and practice some common sense.

I'll be adding a functional vent on the right in the "ducts" at the rear of the light.
Oh, and this time, these lights will FIT
Unlike the Champion design by CP racing
EDIT: Just to keep it on the thread topic. People might remove their FTP's to do this------->
Bwahahahaha, you are the man classic. That's what I'm doing to my FRONT END wit the RE-Amemiya lights!!! You're a tad ahead of me though. Looking good so far.

Nice, that'll be easier then starting with the turd's I had :P
Just make sure to do all your glassing with the bumper bolted up solid. You'd be surprised how much the shape get altered after you chop a relief in the bumper for the lights. I know I added an extra roudn of glassin' to correct a small issue I had from not following that rule.

good one. I was going to do it off the car. Thanks man. Now did your bodykit come with FTPs? I'm going to remove my FTPs and turn signals (since the headlight buckets come with the LED turn signal holes) so it looks as clean as possible but I don't know whether the turn signals being deleted will Flow with the rest of the front end.

Originally, that Bomex cover had no FTP's. CP's light kit used to be installed by chopping the OEM bumper, and the light buckets would fit down into where the FTP stamping was in the bumper - so the ights sort of lined up with the "intended" spot for them, so it *kinda* loosely maintains that flow of lights.
I can't picture the Border bumper in my mind so I can't really comment on whether it would flow with the car sans turn signals, but either way its goign to be entirely objective. I think my body kit will look badass (and be one-off) but some people will say it doesn't work with the stock lines etc. So its hard to say. Persoanally your's will probably be badass though, I always like the FC2000 lights, but wasn't a huge fan of the bumper itself - mouth and foglight wise.

I'm on the same boat man, i don't like the square bottom part.
This is in my thread in the second gen non tech section:

I don't have too many pictures due to the damage/work being done but I'll post them up as I near completion. I plan on modifying quite a bit of the bumper to maximize the air flow to the Radiator, FMIC and oil cooler (see my thread for the oil cooler relocation idea).
Intake will be like this but better sealing around the filter: I already have the RE-A intake piece so I will just need to have the headlight covers made once the project is complete.

That's extremely sad, if a fellow rx7 owner jacks things from another rx7. Unlikely that a thief would steal something so petty, so unfortunately it seems like it's true. I don't like having just an empty space there, but I guess if there were a mesh covering it or something it wouldn't be too bad.
YES!!!!!! BRB, gonna search!
EDIT: NO!!!!
it was: "the END ALL OF Cold Air Intakes"
Poor guy got a new one that day.

One of mine fell out, so I took out the other one.
It was just pressed in, just like anyone else with original FTP's; the mounts are all cracked by now.
So I run no FTP's, and I really don't give a **** what you think cause it's MY car.

You can find FTPs on Fleabay and on forums just like this one dirt cheap. They are of course used, but even with cracking mounts, you CAN repair them to be just as strong if not stronger. The one I bought for $20 had cracks forming on BOTH studs. Some epoxy and sanding later, they were fine. I've had a few people back into me, including one dumbass in a Suzuki Aerio who threw it in reverse at a stop sign and FLOORED it. All is well in the land of FTPs.
I personally like the way a nice black FC looks without the FTPS but I think all other colors look better WITH the FTPs.
lastphase: You should feel lucky that all that was stolen was your FTPs. While My FTPs were sitting on a shelf in my house, my entire black RX7 Vert was stolen.
