Question Why do I have two pressure sensors?

I have a 1987 S4 TII. I removed the Cruise Control unit and found this bolted underneath. It wasn't hooked to anything, never has been since I've owned the car.

I have one already a square/rectangular one bolted to the strut support tower.

So, why would I have an additional pressure sensor?

Thanks
