Any ideas? This car was tampered by someone before me and I am really confused as to why my emissions harness is that of a 87 TII. Did this ever occur stock... or do you think the guy who owned it before me tampered with it?

 

Your car was probably made in 87 and mid 87 is when they switched from Low impedance fuel injectors to high impedance.

It makes no difference really.

 

It does when I try to put high impedance injectors in it for the 88 model and in order to do it, I had to get rid of the resistor box and then it wont fit the injectors because of the offset notch on the 88 550cc high impedance injectors.

 

So if you've removed the resistor box then just cut the notches off the injectors so they fit in the harness.

That's what I did do go low impedance on my secondaries.

 

That makes a **** load of sense.

Someone messed with the harness if you have a 88 car and the Emissions harness has a solenoid resistor package.

Why did he do it???? Probably ignorance combined with his head stuck up his dark spot.

The harness is usable if you jumper all five of the wires on the solenoid resistors plug and then cut the notch off the fuel injector plugs, OR buy high impedence plugs for all four injectors and splice them to the harness.
