I am just trying to figure out if anyone has unused emissions parts that they may want to sell...Its looking more and more like my cats are toasted. From what I am hearing, some people just throw that stuff away. I cant find anything like "garunteed to pass" and I am seriously thinking about putting some rubbbing alcohol in this thing to try to get it through..

Actually the emissions equip is required in every state - its FEDERAL LAW but it is up to the States to decide how to enforce the Law. some do it via annual or bi-annual inspections & most require inspection at the time of title transfer. Actually I think the law requires the latter for every state but in some areas the Enforcement of that requirement is virtually non-existant.

I know that emissions equipment is REQUIRED...But lets be realistic, not everyone runs that stuff. I am not trying to circumvent the law, I am merely trying to find a source of cheaper equipment that I can use since I am attepting to adhere to the statutes. Lets be honest here, the ACV goes for $580.00 at the dealer. Why not try to find it for less money?

Basically, I have a car that I would like to drive. My backup vehicle is about to break down. I am not looking to start doing performance mods, until I am sure that everything is working in stock form. I would never ask someone to give me an ACV or stuff like that, sell it to me, yes. What I am trying to point out is that the people here that remove that equipment and throw it away, shouldnt do that. They could be making money of us. Lets face it, this country was based on free economy, wasnt it???

Believe it or not, I already got the ACV from the junkyard for $35. I think it works, its sending air to the cats. But to doesnt seem like a whole lot of air though. How much air is supposed to go to the Cat? What I probably need is a new (or used) Cat/Precat system.
