If the Apexi PowerFC is a plug and play option, then no you cannot. The wiring harness is very different between S4 and S5.

all of the wiring between series is completely different if you haven't noticed. the PFC uses the stock wiring harness.

Ask BANZAI-RACING if he carries an adapter to mate the two.

The Power FC itself will work fine (AP Engineering) but you will need a different adapter harness, Banzai Racing supplies it. You can run the AP Engineering PFC without rewiring the trailing coil, and the default basemap is different on it than the FD PFC.

I wouldn't buy this AP Engineering unit unless you get a really good deal. You're better off getting a used FD PFC off the 3rd gen forums and then buying the harness.

The AP is a modified FD PFC with a patch harness to install in an S5. To install it in an S4 you will still need our S4 PFC kit. Typically it is far more expensive to buy the AP PFC, it will not come with the sensors required, and ususally does not have a Commander.

Our S4 PFC adapter kit will allow installation of the less expensive FD PFC or the S5 AP unit.

Only one major problem, it will not plug into your car without spending another $200, which equals $1500. The map on it may be for similiar mods, but it will still only be a base map for your car. Every car/engine is different and needs to be tuned for it's own specific characteristics.

Fd PFC is available new for as little as $800 (if you shop) + our S4 kit with sensors ($315) = $1115

Or you can pick up a used FD PFC (which is what the AP is anyway) for as little as $300-$500

I would post a WTB ad in the 3rd gen forum for a used FD PFC. The PFC's don't fail unless somebody makes a wiring mistake and fries the box. then get the Banzai kit. you should be able to get the whole thing set up for about $1000 then if you get a used PFC in the $700 range. Then you can buy a Datalogit laptop interface if you choose to. that will allow you to more easily swap maps out or do self tuning if you choose to do so.

It's all in the people around you (unless you're tuning it yourself)

yes go with what your tuner prefers, but if you are self tuning the Power FC will be easier due to the easy installation and large amount of information available for it
