why is the 100a Fuse hard to pull off?

im trying to replace the 100a fuse and its feels like it has a nut holding it down or sumthing.. is there

it does have a bolt running through it. You will break it trying to pull it out. Open that lil flap on the front of the fuse box and remove the bolt first.

would a bad 100a fuse prevent the alteternaor from charging the battary

well, yes and no.

Yes it would prevent it because the main fuse cuts all power to everything.

But no as well because if the alternator isn't charging the battery with enough amperage, or if the battery is not holding a charge - then the problem is one or the other. And with these cars I would say its one or the other...

with a bad main fuse the car wont run; so there for the alternator could not charge because it is not spinning. If the fuse is blown it must be replaced. But that doesn't mean the alternator is not bad.

Is your 100a fuse blown? It sort of sounds like you don't know if it is or not. It would not only cause the alt to not charge, but the car wouldn't even try to start (crank).

You can look at the fuse to see if its blown...or tap it and listen for metal ruffling around...
