Whos torn apart a sunroof?
Try to open or close my sunroof and all I here are plastic gears grinding but I bought it that way. So how hard would it be to remove the motor, gears, whatever and open, close the thing by hand?
With black paint and summer coming it sure would be nice to let some heat out the top.
Anybody done something like this before?

I took mine apart had the same problem. I took all the side panels off then took off the headliner as not to mess anything up... but it isnt too had to get it all apart. Once all the panels are off you can see how everything comes apart. I dont know anything about just making it funny manual, I think that would present some problems with security...

or : this may take a while to make/do.. but i think it would be worth wild.
ever ridden in an old 944 porsche? the top acctually comes out all together.. i am going to go to my favorite place in the world (junk yard) find a 90-92 240 sx.. because they have GREAT sunroof latches, i am going to fabricate a system, if i want the roof open, unclip the latches and throw the roof assembly in the back hatch area..
it would be an open/half Targa coupe Rx-7..
p.s.. this idea is copyrighted by ME fuggers. no i'm just kidding, when it's done i'll take pics and post a write up of how-to!
should be nice

Be sure to remove the air deflector and end links (by opening the sunroof and removing four philips screws) before you disassemble the rest of the sunroof assembly, otherwise you'll break your endlinks.
