Whooeee... Did a fluid change, and wow..

So I thought it about time to change the tranny fluid and rear diff in my s4, along with a rad flush and oil change... I didn't know when the previous owner had done the diff but lets just say the fluid that WAS in there, looked like mercury, and was so granular it even had little chunks of metal in it. I was like ..

Moral of the story, I wouldn't be surprised if I have to buy a new diff in the near future.

what kind of fluid did yoiu put in the diff? ATF?

I don't think you would put ATF into a manual tranny but I might be wrong. Plus he didn't state which he had anyway. It isn't unusual to have chunks of metal in the fluid. Look at this thread. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...tic+drain+plug

u suppose to put 75W90 for the diff and for manual tranny suppose to use MT90.
