They weigh no more than 15lbs. Probably less than 20lbs. They are not as heavy as people would think, there's not much material there.

Only my 88 SE had 2+2, my 89 GXL did not have them.

So I save 5, maybe 10 lbs by switching from Seats to bins... But on the plus side, I that weight is over the rear wheels.

I'm better off switching to a Honda Civic battery and laying off the triple quarter pounders with cheese and bacon.

Honestly, the bins look MUCH better than the seats do. Plus you get the extra storage space and you can relocate the battery to the bins. The seats are so damned useless, I don't even know what Mazda was thinking back then?

But yeah, no huge weight savings. Why are you picking up an FC? Daily driving? Or going to race it?

Well, it was originally gonna be a beater...
Then I thought about putting a catback and header on it...
Then I started thinking about a lightweight flywheel... (Already have an S4 counterweight.)
Then I started thinking about getting Vert or S5 5 spoke wheels...

2700lbs curb weight? This thing's kinda a pig to be so small. I gotta trim some of the fat off this porker before anything.

I can at least throw the dog in the back seat... And removing the back seat takes effort and buying bins takes money... **** that, it's better off spent elsewhere.

Had them, and found them to be pretty much useless. A 3 year old sat back there some, and I tried to sit in them a couple of times only to hit my head on the ceiling. So I took those maroon bitches out and swapped in a black interior with the bins. Much better looking and easier to store stuff in than the seats folded down.
