It just occured to me today that i imagined alot more people had 2+2 seating. Now that i think about it, i dont think there are that many. So, how many of you actually have/had 2+2 seating or had it when your car was stock? I do and i drive a canadian 88 GXL n/a.

My GXL originally had them, but a roll bar got in the way, i was in the process of buying a black set for my '91 but i think the guy flaked

I have a 1988 SE that is a 2+2.

 

I think itd be funny to try to fit the 2x2 seats in the back of my vert and torture the rear seat passengers when putting the top down.

 

my 88 TII has them my car is gutted and they are kinda for sale! ...lol grey! PERFECT CONDITION with all hardware!

Yes you can, that's exactly what i did... Puted back seats from my '87 euro-spec GXL to '88 a-spec GTU... cuted carpet a bit and removed wiring for lights in trunk pockets (as well as pockets themselves)...

Those seats are torture for the passengers but are very convenient for small stuff, much better than big trunk in two seater, where everything is flying backwards while accelarating and than hitting the seats while braking

my 89 turboII didnt come factory with 2+2, but i am in the process of buying/recieving. :-) my old 86 gxl had them, in burgendy, but i did an s5 black interior swap because i couldnt look at that faded, satanic looking interior anymore...(it was trashed to begin with) so i went with black...looked great.

..the s5 interior conversion didnt have the rear seat..

 

i have a question i been wondering about the rear seats in the FC i been thinkin about getting them for my 89 T2 because i can fit in 1 or 2 more people my question is i heard the seats are heavier then the bins does anyone know exactly how much more they weigh then the bins and does anyone got pics of a t2 with black interior and 2+2 seating

2+2 on '88 GTU (n/a) blue interior (not for sale)... barely any room, but atleast, they're better than the storage bins...naaah, I like the bins better.

I've installed the seats like 4 years ago, but as far as i remember the seat was aproxiamtely the same weight as bins or even a bit lighter...

 

Oh man, not talk about the rear seats lol.

surprisingly since i've never seen the option on an S5 TII, a buddy of mine had an '89 White TII with the 2+2 seats, all black leather interior.

Personally I think they're a waste of space and the compartments work wonders for me when going on road trips. Even after barely fitting an *** in the seats, there was no leg room what so ever, unless the driver and passenger are short

 

My kids ride back there. Otherwise, they'd be worthless to me. (I don't have any legless friends).

I don't have any 2+2 seats in my 86 N/A, 87 TII, or my long gone 88 TII.

 

the rear seat and hatch carpet weighs 25lbs all together.

How much do bins and all the associated hardware weigh? I'm going to start driving a 1986 GXL 2+2 soon and I want to know how much of a pig that rear seat makes it.
