So i swapped out a motor into my blue car, and beforehand, this motor ran perfectly. Now that i have it in the blue car, you have to pump the petal to start it, and it runs really rough. When the motor gets to 3500 rpm, it runs like it is on a governor. Then i noticed some white **** in my oil. I thought that it was gas mixing with the oil because the motor was flooding before (i had a broken injector). Any ideas why a. there is **** in my oil and b. why don't my secondary injectors come online. My car won't idle, and i don't think it is getting enough gas. My air/fuel meter won't register anything either on the rich or lean side. On the side note, my timing is firing on the rear rotor strange; it fires good, then pauses, and i'm not getting any spark in the trailing coil, and that was good before. I need suggestions, my father is getting pissed because this should have been a simple motor swap and it is getting all kinds of messed up. My gas is also four months old, could that be a problem?

 

Your secondaries won't come on unless the engine's running good enough to produce the boost/vac pressures necessary for the ECU to kick 'em on, although this is open to debate...

White "****" in your oil is probably water, gas mixing with looks like oil, maybe a little darker, with the unmistakeable odor of gas...

Trailing coil timing using a timing light cuts out like that sometimes, it's weird, can't explain it, but it's normal

Air/ fuel meter probably won't read right till she's warm


Old gas could be a problem, sure, but I'd be more concerned with injectors that sit around for a while- it sounds like you have one not working as advertised...

 

I am willing to bet that the white stuff is the signs of a blown water seal, as is the case with piston engines, that usually signals a blown head gasket. I hate to say it, but you may be looking into a rebuild there, buddy. I say "may be" so as to prevent any flaming about jumping to engine rebuild, but from every other post that had similar prob's, it came to a rebuild

 

How long was the motor sitting? The white stuff could be condensation. Thats the same thing I have had a few rotor heads tell me.

 

It's moisture that naturally gets into the oil pan. On the Oil neck there's a small pipe coming out of it that should have a hose that connects to...something. That small pipe is to pull the moisture out of the oil neck (the white foaming stuff, make sure it's not clogged. Also the rough engine could be a vac leak.

 

The motor was sitting for about a week now. my purge valve also has the same white **** in it. Maybe it's clogged, i'll clean it out. Any suggestions about the gas? I'm going to try a fuel filter, and see if that does anything.

 

I have the exact problem, good compression, strange spark in the trailing coils and if it hits the 3500 mark, which takes it a while, it will not pass it just revs up and down there. Let me know what your checking. I haven't looked at my oil i geuss i will have to. I too left it sitting for a while when i was waiting for a intake gasket. I have looked for, Vac leaks, none, fuel spray at fuel injectors and that seems fine. I have pretty much checked everything. please let me know what you find. and i will do the same.
