This doesn't seem right...

I'm having an annoying overheating problem. Tonight I removed the radiator to take to a shop for cleanout and such.
I thought it'd be a good idea for them to go over the oil cooler as long as stuff was apart.
so, I took the oil cooler out. When I removed the lower oil line banjo bolt, it began to drain. So far so good. Then it stopped draining - after about a cup of oil.
When I got the cooler out of the car, I turned it on end to drain the rest of the oil out. Got about two more teaspoons.
Shouldn't there have been a lot more oil laying in this thing? If so, what's up? Something clogged, or a valve stuck?
Wouldn't that also contribute a lot to the overheating problem?

Thanks for your expert opinion.

A clog in the oil cooler can definately cause a problem. But remember, the oil probably drained out of the cooler, and back into the pan (not all of it, but most of it).

Thanks J-Rat. I'm sure You're right. I took the cooler and radiator to a shop today and the guy there had the same opinion.

I appreciate the reply.
