On a "normal"car that mean's your pushing water through the headgasket. I dont know what it means on the rotory for sure, but you may start there.

White smoke is a sign that your water seals are gone.

Mines been smoking bad for over year now. Tried revving pass 5k rpm in neutral, it could smoke up the whole parking lot in a white plume of smoke. The motor still runs like a champion still. My 40-70mile in 3rd gear takes only 5.5 secs average, comparable to stock turbo tii. I always though the leaking oil would mix in with the fuel mixture and hurt power. I guess not. And I ain't gonna to bother rebuilding the rotary until it smokes real bad at idle.

Do NOT use ATF in your engine...

-Pressure test cooling system. White smoke is generally coolant. Do you burn any?

-How much oil does it use?

Are you SURE it's white smoke? What does it smell like? Sweet?
