White Smoke Out Of Tail Pipes
White Smoke Out Of Tail Pipes
i serched and count find the right thread, and i knew the answer myself but forgot cuz i've been outta the rx7 game for a while, but only white smoke comes out of the exhaust but smells only like gas no coolent. goes away when warm. poping noise from the exhaust but i think that from the glass pack as mufflers (im going to get that replace as soon as i register the car).i think its a seals? o ring? sumthing i had forgot. but if some one can help thanks
havent really took it out like that yet. i have just bought it and its in the garage. i take it out for a drive a couple times of week, less than 3miles and need to hit the junkyard for a new speedo so miles dont work but rpm does.
it drives fine has power everything. havnt got around doing a comp. test but yea when i was driving it back home on the freeway it was all good. oh yeah i had just remember it doesnt over heat ether needle stays in the middle.

First, test compression... to make sure it's not apex seals (although I kind of doubt it personally).
Second, warm up the car, and clip a voltmeter to the O2 sensor (in fractional mode), ground it... this will tell you if it's running rich/lean/whatever (.45-.5 or so is good, .8 more or so is rich, .25-ish is lean)...
If it's running rich and you have good compression, you'll need to check your injectors, timing, AFM, vacuum sensor (in other words, fuel/air system) etc...

Well I checked the compression about a month ago and it was 100-front 110-rear.
The only type of meter I have is a multimeter.. and it have probes not clips so I'm now sure how to to that Anyway I changed the o2 sensor around the same time I checked the compression. I guess I'll figure out how to do the multimeter thing.. then go from there. Thanks.

Well obviously you can use the DMM in voltage mode
You can get clips at Radio Shack... although if you have a stock-style O2 sensor with the stock connector, you could just use the probe on the connector, then touch the other probe to the bolt that holds the vacuum sensor (as a ground).
Go ahead and change your water-temp sensor behind the water pump housing (need to take off the intake manifold though)... and you'd be better of checking the manifold's air temp sensor too (mine was broken when I got my car so I had to get a new one).
And use the multimeter's Ohmmeter mode to check the AFM and it's intake sensor...
