Unhappy white smoke

well, i park my tII last night and when i come back out to crank her up in the morning it wont crank. after a couple of failed attempts she cranks up and runs but with a little smoke coming out the tailpipe. after it warms up a little i throttle up softly and smoke is everywhere...well.... just out of the exhaust and the turbo maybe. i'm preety sure that i need a new turbo but i was just wonderin what else it could be since the car was running rough. thanks guys!

it could be that it was slightly flooded and running rich. the smoke could be from the flooding and the rich running of the cold start enrichment process. usually rich smoke is more of a brown but i've had 7's that smoke a little grey/white after sitting or flooding and all was fine. take the car out and run it a little and see if the smoke clears and the engine runs a bit better.

Check your compression to be sure, but does the exhaust smell of gas? If so, running rich can cause you to backfire. Check your plugs to make sure theyre not fouled.

Smoke from the engine bay is probly from an exhaust leak(i.e. bad gasket).

When it's running do can you hear the exhaust note from the engine bay?
Or does it(engine bay) smell like exhaust?

A bad oill seal in the turbo just means your turbo is going to need to be rebuilt or replaced soon IF it truly is oil burning. If it's a gassy smoke then you're just running rich.

So before tearing out your turbo make sure it is the turbo smoking!

same thing happened to me. I got 20w-50 oil in my Na FC. It was cold the other day like 10 degrees F and the car wouldnt turn over. TOday it was 45 degrees so i started her up and she spit out a bunch of white smoke, but after that it went away. Felt like it was CHOKING and farted out something. Now shes fine
