That's your turbo, bro.

j/k

Is it a mechanic whining similar to a turbo whine, or like a whooshing of air, or what? Could we get a recording, possibly? It's really hard to tell.

Sure it's not the trans? If the syncros are going bad it will wine, my turbo trans sounds like a ambulance is following me...

Maybe your belts? Belts are cheap. Even the good ones. Don't use the shitty ones.

Top/behind the motor? Throwout bearing or trans main bearing. Does it make the noise with the clutch in or out, and does it change with engine speed?

i was very busy today so i wasn't able to make a video but i know it is not a trans noise i can't hear it over my exhaust so i don't know if it gets louder while accelerating.
when at idle it makes a one note high pitched whine its not the belts because the noise is very faint toward the front.

it kinda sound like when you squeeze a filled balloon at the end and it makes a high pitched sound.

i really need to get a video up i is hard to explain.
