whining sound
ok i have a whining sound coming from my engine i thought it was the alternator but i replaced it and it still does it. i can tell it is coming from the top/behind the motor that is where it is the loudest anybody have any i deas before i start replacing random parts?
That's your turbo, bro.
j/k Is it a mechanic whining similar to a turbo whine, or like a whooshing of air, or what? Could we get a recording, possibly? It's really hard to tell. |
ill get a video up tomorrow i don't think the neighbors will like the sound of my exhaust at 130 in the morning.
Sure it's not the trans? If the syncros are going bad it will wine, my turbo trans sounds like a ambulance is following me...
Maybe your belts? Belts are cheap. Even the good ones. Don't use the shitty ones.
Top/behind the motor? Throwout bearing or trans main bearing. Does it make the noise with the clutch in or out, and does it change with engine speed?
i was very busy today so i wasn't able to make a video but i know it is not a trans noise i can't hear it over my exhaust so i don't know if it gets louder while accelerating.
when at idle it makes a one note high pitched whine its not the belts because the noise is very faint toward the front. it kinda sound like when you squeeze a filled balloon at the end and it makes a high pitched sound. i really need to get a video up i is hard to explain. |
do you have the double altonater pulley and do you still have the stock cooling fan? the fan pulley could be slipping.
not the pulley or the belts aready checked all of that it is towards the top or the rear of the motor.
