Where would i be able to find conversion head lights for my 87 fc?

Ive been lookin everywhere tryin to find the conversion head light instead of the pop up lights. Do you guys know a good site?

There the circle head lights and i cant seem to find any of them!

ebay has a pair right now but they are like 600 bucks. Do a search.

Yeah, I would get a kit, because I think some of them look really cool. But they cost so damn much its just not worth it anymore

the eastbear kit looked pretty clean but a waste of 1000 bucks. do not expect to pay anything less than 500.

I am making sleeks as we speak. I already have one housing made and then the other in a few days...should have a working prototype in less than a few weeks.

eww...and those you have to cut the bumper for.....theone I am making is just bolt in...I am 50 percent done withe second housing...then i gotta glass them up and bondo and sand the prototypes to make a mold.....

what are you using for lights? most of the quality lights I've encountered aren't small enough to give good clearance over the bumper without bulging over the hood...which is ugly...

a thin halogen projector lamp which i will rig up with a driving bulb and an auxiliary halogen projector lamp. That chassis structure behind the light really limits space and thickness options but I barely go it to fit...

Any pics? What kinds of bulbs do they use? Where did you source the projector and are they DOT legal?

from a halogen kit....probably not...but for those that are worried about it I can use a PIAA lighting but i would have to charge another 150 for it. I plan on chargin for those that want it around 425. Then I can give options, like PIAA and carbon fiber which could cost another few hundred, which still isnt bad when you compare and shop around.

Well, I was just wondering. PIAA driving lights shouldn't be used as headlamps...nor are they DOT approved to be so. In touchier areas, if you're stopped and questioned, you have no proof. I'm putting together a couple kits for the Porsche 944 soon (already have a couple customers, cash in hand) then I'll be coming back to the seven. But my specific goal is to keep it street legal, or to at least have some way to defend my customers should they need it.

For the 944 I'm looking to make a cheeap kit, a middle area kit, then a high end kit. The low end kit will use projectors from one of those ghetto Civic setups, but with an H7 assembly (decent/stockish light, little better but nothing to awe at). These projectors are small in diameter...around 60~70mm and would clear in the RX-7 bucket. For the 944, I'm hoping to buy one of the 88-ish civic kits, and use the braket and mounting devices provided with the housing to mount the setup behind a seperate bucket and shield. Then I'll be wiring in the propper hardware to make the light efficient and not be a drain on the system. A quality setup from junk...and it'll have that very important DOT sticker and paperwork on it.

I don't know if the whole housing will fit in the light well on the RX-7 low enough without sacraficing light, but it's something you could try. They dissasemble easily in most cases, and are a mediocre investment (unless you get into the ballasts and such like I'm doing).

Another option you may look into are the 90mm HELLA H9 halogen modules. They provide superior light and and easy to setup, but you have to sacrafice a little bit of the close-range beam (foglights fix it) and will cost $300 to get all the modules, wiring, relays, etc. to set them up.

Also, Valeo makes some really good projectors. You can pick them off audis and some BMW's. GE, Phillips, and a couple other are decent, too, and found on Acuras. A great, and cheap, projector is that found on the first gen Tiburon...but they're hard to find. All of these are in the 55~75mm size range, which might fit the rex bucket better.

Also, the Audi A6 and BMW X5 use bi-Xenon HID projectors...might be a bit more BUT great lights (Valeo).

I want sleek headlights that look good with no/minimal cutting and not a 600 dollar price tag

I can dream can't I? It'd be nice to drop the headlight motors and all that ****.

Well if someone can make a sleek housing (just the housing alone), I can take care of the lighting part. I don't know how to develop a new sleek housing but I have a lot of experience putting HID projectors in headlights.

I'm not sure because I haven't taken dimensions but it is larger than Valeo projectors. Space is pretty tight in the FC so you would want to use either BMW 3-series or Valeo projectors. I'm pretty sure BMW 5-series are out of the question if you are looking to fit in another projector or rig up something else to use as a high beam inside the housings.

well the way i see it it is nearly impossible to fit much in there and I am offering something a bit less expensive because I kow i wouldnt want to spend any six hundred dollars for a headlight setup. I think around the 400 price range would be best and for those willing to make their own lights i could offer the housing alone....

Not without bulging the shield out over the hood, in most cases. No matter what you use I highle suggest the use of a quality set of driving lights.
