Where should the Temp needle be??

ok, after my motor blew becuz the car overheated now im paranoid..i got a new rebuilt motor on the car, and on the other motor the temp needle was always like 1/3 up..and now the 2 days i have used it it goes like 1/2 up..or a little more..is this normal?? .. im getting the radiatior flushed tomorrow..and i was wondering where is ur needle at most of the time..? i could use the help..thanks..oh and im taking all the precautions cuz maybe im going to the socalrxclub cruise the next weekend..so yeah any info would be appreciated..

my 89 vert when warmed up is labout half 1/2 (not exactly 1/2 lower then) never goes above that, the motors got about 10K on it

86-88 about 1/4 way up is normal
89-91 about 1/2 way up is normal

My '87 is at 1/2 whenever it is warmed up. Don't know if that's where it's supposed to be since i keep seeing opinions all over the charts as to where it 'should' be.

It should be at 1/4. Hook up a cheapo AutoZone temp gague and see where the temps are at just to make sure.
