where to route vacuum lines on intake funnel
so i want to put in a smooth funnel to my turbo, which will end up removing three or 4 vacuum lines. I am not sure where to put them or can i just cap them off. does anyone have any pics of their setup, with the new placement of the lines. thanks

If they were okay to cap off, they wouldn't have been connected to the TID...
You have three lines, a big one for the BOV, a small one for the boost control solenoid and a small one for the PCV system. The two small ones can be left open-vented with no problem, but if you open-vent the stock BOV your engine won't idle. Connect it back into the new TID.

Actually it doesn't. The boost control solenoid obviously just discarges a little bit of clean air, and although you'd think you get oil coming out the PCV line, in my experience with two cars over many years, you don't.

well, i've got no idle now. i hooked up a hose from the back of the apexi filter to the bov, i'm not sure what the problem is. could it be too long? or if the bov is not level could that be a problem? s5 TII

The BOV has to be connected back in after the AFM, not before it. You've created a huge post-AFM vac leak, which is why it won't idle.

you are right. i was sitting on the can at work about 25 min ago and i thought to myself, I bet i need to hook up the bov after the afm. then i thought about it some more and remembered that that is how it was before, I am glad that i was able to come to this conclusion, then to have you confirm it for me. it's funny how great epiphanies come in strange places like the bathroom.
thanks again.
thanks again.
