Where to put Nitrous Jet

I'm looking @ getting a nitrous kit from the profits of parting out my 280ZX, and remembered something.

At my local drag strip, a guy named Charlie had a stock N/A w/ a large shot of nitrous running 13's. He had his jet plumbed into the dynamic chamber. I never saw WHERE (he only had his hood opened once) but that's where he had it.

My question is... (as I ask w/ a dynamic chamber in my hands)

Would the best place on the DC to put a jet be the primary runner "chamber"? I don't see anywhere where it would send the nitrous to both the secondary runners.

And if that's the best spot to put it, how large of a shot could you run through JUST the primary ports?? (125 shot planned)

(don't worry Jimmy, not before our race is done)

Put the nozzle the farthest away from the TB, put it right after the Air meter. The Nitrous will create a pulling effect and I have seen dynos of like setups same car moved the nozzle to near the air filter and increased HP, by allowing the nozzzle to carry air with it, instead of injection into the stream of air, it injects it inline with the air flow and thus increased the speed of the air inside the intake piping.

My nitrous is as close as you can get it to the TB. Seems as though it would be stronger right there less air more nitrous kind of thing.

4-6" from the throttle body is optimum. You don't want or need the fogger close to the air meter; it would only heat up the nitrous charge, and put stress on the PVC intake piping. (after all, Nitrous Oxide comes out at approximately negative 127 degrees fahrenheit, and PVC tends to crack and break from extremely rapid and extreme temperature changes).

I would worry about putting it into the dynamic chamber... Why send flow only into the primaries? That seems a little detrimental to me. What good would it do? It seems like a really terrible attempt at direct port, but would not near accomplish the same results.

It should also be noted that a single fogger nozzle should point in the direction of flow, which is NOT necessarily perendicular. (Example: putting the single fogger in the TB elbow bend. The point should face towards the TB plates, not perpendicular to the curvature.)

I highly discourage putting a single fogger into the dynamic chamber. Spend the extra $100 and go direct port.

Nitrous oxide isn;t meant to replace airflow, it is meant to compliment it.

Turbulent air created by the plates being so close can cause problems with atomization, not to mention the division at the splitter. I'd move it back if I were you. You run the risk of a nitrous backfire from gasoline pooling, and you'll make more power with it moved back.

Take a look at www.fc3s.org for a decent install of a single, wet fogger on an NA. I agree with everything done there except for the install position of the fogger nozzle.

Actually, countless dyno runs have shown that a spray-bore system is optimal, which goes after the throttle body (or carburator), and would minimize the effect of which you describe.

These tests were run by numerous Nitrous manufacturer's and automotive user's, on both carb'd and EFI set-ups.

i need nitrous, i need some sort of nitrous kit for my na, i wanted to go turbo, but I want the na reliability, and want to be able to race once in a while, not put the engine under stresss all the time.
