Ok, i've been lookin' all over the internet, and at autopart stores for an oil pan gasket for my87 TII and I'm getting a little irritated because i can't find one, where are places on the internet that sell them, mazdatrix don't have any, and whats the other site that people go to....

I can sell them for $15 shipped each. The best luck sealing rotary oilpans that I have seems to be using a gasket with a thin coat of sealant on each side.

The oem oil pan gasket is silicone just tore apart 5 motor evey one used silicone no rubber/paper/cork gasket on them!it looked to be a oem type of silicone lite grey in color,,use the silicone make sure u clean it good w/brake clean, any oil on the surface at all and it will leak, make sure the pan is flat as possible(look around the bolt holes see if some one has over tqed them) and torque the bolts to factory specs 7.8-11 nm 69-95 in-lb not ft-lb(like any one ever does this) if it was me i would use some thing like permatex ultra black part 598b *not the blue junk (dont be cheap)* or go to mazda and see if they have some oem stuff(best case),,but again make sure it is very clean.More and more now days they are using silicone at the factory when both mating surfaces are flat, 4 oil pans ,transmission pans (most fwd dodge trans pans are siliconed on 4 example and the little fwd trans iam talking about have a level of fluid always above the sealing point 413,470,604) put it back stock less problem later on!!!itz sorta ironic that there is a gasket listed in the parts fiche but in the manual it has sealer listed fyi 95%sure it was oem silicone(on the core motors) guessing they have a gasket listed for shops taking the pan off in the car with oil running every were and no time(in a shop)(time is money/labor) to let it drip out so they (half a@@@it) use the gasket cause it would be hard to keep the oil off the surface when its running from every were!!
