im here. 89GXL. love the bottons. Its near mint condition. Just have to get it out of ther shop. I have some mods for it. Got to love the na. You have to be creative when hoping one up. I have a bonez filter with the little scoop in front so im going to put a 3.1/2'' hose inside and drilll a hole in front of car by light and run the hose down through the bumper opening. Keep intake temp lower and forced induction. I have dualls 2'' all the way back heads but need shop to put them on with pipes. After that im going to need secondaries, pump underpulley, fan, box and an afc. Mabey that md chip. Thats all my mods for this car. wont cost much and i will be faster than a type r hopefully. As for the body , I want an integra front end from a 90-93. My friend has one , looks agressive. Thiers a body kit on this video game called tokeyo highway extreme thats bad ***. I want to do the back end custom like that. Its on dreamcast.

Intake
Yea, I was thinkin of either buyin or makin one of those headlight scoops for my intake...but was wonderin about water. What if it rains? Won't that bring water into the engine? I mean I figure that could mess alot up. Let me know what you think.

I have driven in the rain with it many times. No nothing has happend. I was talking about a tube going around the light directly into the filter but its funny because I also had the scoop. Its 145 total at rotary performance. expensive but it looks agressive. I was pissed about the price. Buy it.

I've got two RX-7's. My once daily driver (engine locked up) had the FIPK from K&N. I made a custom cold air box out of aluminum. The exhaust had a striaght pipe replacing the convertors with dual supertrapp mufflers at the rear. Many people questioned me about those funny looking mufflers with the caps on them. Current rear wheel HP is 0.
The second one is being built for soloII. I'll be running in FP. If your not familiar with that class then here is the quick run down. You are allowed to lighten the car totally remove the interior, you can port the engine, a rollcage is suggested but not required, a maximum of 16" x 10" rim with real racing slicks are allowed. I'm going to start with a stock engine and a sidedraft weber carb and eventually get a ported engine. The suspension has the factory swaybars and ground-control coils with tokico struts all around. The car will have a rollcage installed later after I get a lexan windshield and rear hatch. My car is overweight for its class so I have to be careful with what I add. It currently weighs about 2350# with engine. I have yet to install the guages and wiring. I'll do that after the engine is re-installed. Exhaust will be a modified Racing Beat collected into a single 3" pipe leading to a single rear straight thru muffler of unknow origin yet. Probably another supertrapp. The doors will be hulled out after the rollcage is installed. If you don't have a rollcage with side impact bars you have to leave the factory bars in the doors. Many things yet to be done but its finally starting to come together. I'm hoping to get about 140 to the rear tires. With the weight reduction the power-to-weight ratio will be the same as a stock TurboII even though I'll be making less HP. Eventually with a proper ported engine I would like to make about 190 - 200 HP to the rear wheels. With a final weight of around 2150-2200# that will be a fun ride.

Just thought I'd check in. '86 N/A. Had it for years but haven't done much too it. Been spending money elsewhere.
Do have a Bonez superflow cat on it now. And 1 high flow muffler (rust holes).

Cold-air box?
What exactly is a cold-air box & what kind of gains does it give you. I think I have the general idea but could I have details please, I might try that. Thanks.

My car/mods are in the sig...
..I have no clue on RWHP. After my race pipe gets here I'm hoping to have close to 160 at the flywheel. The cold air box is just a box that you build around your open cone filter to shield it from the heat. They are fairly easy to make, but I'm to lazy, lol. They should gain an extra HP or two....

the cold air induction works by letting cold air into the engine which is more dense and compact than hot air and when you have the same amount of air in less of a volume you have more room to put in more fuel in the combustion chamber which equals more power.

I have an Blue '87 Rex... 17 yrs old (my first car )
Current mods are GSR performance exhaust and a Dinged up K&N filter... got it for free, looks real ugly in there, but oh well.
Other things:
Tinted windows, did some detailing on the interior by painting the odd things white, momo shifter, JVC cd player, 12" pioneer in the back, Viper alarm system.
