Where is my clutch fluid going?

I guess it's more of why is it going there. Clutch worked fine before pulling the motor for a rebuild. Put it back in and I can't seem to keep clutch fluid in the tank. Every day it makes a magic journey from the tank to the ground below the bell housing. What should I be looking for?

edit: My brake idiot light is also on, if that is in any way related.

I would have to say...a leak?

Find out what's leaking, and where.

By brake idiot light do you mean the low fluid light, or the handbrake light?

Then I'd say you need a new slave cylinder, or need to rebuild it.

They cost about 45 bucks I beleive (or half of that for a rebuild).

Hand brake light, that could just be electrical weirdness I guess.

Am I going to be able to replace the cylinder without pulling a bunch of stuff back out. I've been taking the car apart a lot this week

p.s. thanks for all the help in general. Just from reading stuff here I went from never having changed oil to rebuilding and engine. I'm still a little sketchy on the other stuff, but I'm getting there.

Try Mazdatrix... they're one of the few places were you can buy just about any OEM RX-7 part and at a discounted price (just TRY that with a dealer).

Otherwise, try RockAuto.com

Its pretty easy to change out. Only two bolts and the hose to remove. It can be a pain to bleed the sytem though. Let gravity make the fluid flow out the bleeder first then finish with some pumping like the brakes.
I don't no of any interchange of parts from another car. Mazdatrix would work.

look for pealing paint around the master cylinder. if the paint is stripping off you have a leak at the master cylinder.

thats what i found . how i found what cylinder blew. i saw the paint pealing off my fire wall

Park Brake light weirdness

My park brake light would show even though the park brake was definately down, few days later my clutch started to not grip and would stick on the floor making it impossible to put it into gear (and take it out of gear). I topped up the brake fluid which is also used by the clutch and after several minutes of pumping the clutch it came back as normal. I put the park brake down and the light went off (seemed to have fixed that problem). Anyway, it turns out I got a leak somewhere because the clutch problem came back, taking it to the shop tommorow.

Leaking clutch

Also, check the hose that attaches to the top of the slave cylinder. There might be a leak in it.
If you find that the leak is coming from the master cylinder (or the slave cylinder) Autozone sells repair kits for both.
