Where to mount boost guage/ pics?

I'm looking to add a boost guage to my 87 turbo II. Where do y'all feel is the simplest and cleanest place to mount it? I searched and found several FD options and a great write up on how to do it, but no pics of 2nd gens,
thanks
Jim

I like mine on the steering column surround. I wish there was a kit for it like the FDs have.
This is the closest I could get to replicating it...

or you could get a digital gauge and mount it here.

I have mine on the pillar now with an AFR guage.

The other pic is pretty sweet but not mine.

i have mine same place as stylemon, it eclipses the tach in the lower rpms, but i dont mind, still see the higher rpms.. and not as obvious as pillar mounted/more stealth looking from outside. Im just not a fan of a-pillar gauges, its like showing everyone what you got esp cops.

Do you have to screw or bolt on those pillar mounts? Do they make different size bases and if so what size for the 7?

I think Autometer makes the pod. It uses plastic bolts that plug into holes that need to be drilled. You could get a single pod.

It does eclipse the tach just slightly, I can still see the needle in the lower range, but not as much. Once it gets to 3500-4000 it's perfectly visible.

I am not a fan of cluttering the cockpit, and I like the stock/sleeper look. Having said that, I have two pillar gauges. I bought a cheap pillar pod. But I think I will throw that away and just mount two gauge cups on the pillar... I really need to see water temps and EGT, but I just can't think of a "sleeper" place for them.

not hard at all. There are plenty of holes already in the firewall.

I would make a gauge panel under the logicon, but I eventually want to install a touch screen are PC there...

that looks nice. I always wanted to grab one of those old school HKS gauges. Yours looks like its 60mm...? That would block a little more of the tach I suppose. Still looks readable.

I like this spot because you don't get that rice feeling with it on the a-pillar and it doesn't hide anything, plus it's a very clean installation.

for boost tho? I really need to see the boost gauge. That would be a decent spot for il temp/pres, fuel pres.

What do you have behind that amber lens?

I can see that boost gauge perfectly fine. I'm running ~10 psi on the stock TII engine/turbo and can monitor it as closely as I want. I'm a little used to glancing over, however, because my wife drove a Saturn Ion, which had the instruments in the center. Hell, the SAFC is mounted just above the glovebox.

The red display next to the boost gauge is an NGK wideband.

I like the A-pillar where it is out of the way yet can be read when necessary... which isn't very often. Pictured is an Auto Meter Ultra-Lite boost guage in an Auto Meter single pod.

That looks nice rob xx 7, how hard is that steering column plastic to get off without breaking it? Anyone put it in the triangle shaped vent cover above the door vent outlet? (on the dash left hand corner?)

I broke a tiny plastic pin, mainly due to me being a little rough with it.
I still have to urethane it together or some crap, it does rattle a little bit because it slightly loose.
