where is main relay

Hey guys,
I have an '87 TII that won't start. No dash lights no fan no anything. I want to check the "Main relay" but can't find documentation about EXACTLY where it is.

Anyone got a good descripton of how to find it?

Thanks!

Don't pull the fuse, just put your hand on the relay and have someone turn the key to on then off. You'll feel a distinct click if its working.

Found It!

The problem is a corroded connector that connects the feed from the 80amp main fuse to the ignition switch. It's a single 3/16" thick black wire with a black snap-together connector that is in the harness just below the Main Fuse Block.
I found that there was no 12v input to the ignition switch, so I turned the switch on and start going from the battery inward with my volt meter.
I unbolted the Main Fuse block, and pulled it out of the way to take some measurements, and I heard the car come on - fan, relay click etc.
As i carefully moved the block around to flex the wiring, I could turn the systems on and off. Then I found the described connector and pulled it apart - the car shut down.

Inside, it was quite corroded. I cleaned it up, put it back together and my baby is happy again.

Thanks to all for suggestions.

I found the same one on one of my FC projects took like 6 hrs to find because I had a short inline with the main relay also. The connector you found seems to give a few people troubles. Congrats on finding it!

for the record, stuff like the location of the main relay can be found in the Factory Service Manual. This manual can be found in the FAQ.

Also for the record, the Main Relay is for the EFI system. It has nothing to do with dash lights, fans or anything else that's not EFI-related.
