Lightbulb where to lift (just to confirm) <<PICS

I just want to confirm where I should be jacking up my car. The little pictures with the round guy dont help much. there are a bunch of pics in the folder, some of where I have it jacked at the back right now (is that ok?) and then jsut some random pics of the front bc im not exactly sure where the crossmember is... if someone could jsut use paint and outline where the correct places are thatd be awesome thanks!

Pics here

I suck at posting pics, but I'd move the jackstands in the rear to those circle things in front of each wheel. Jack the front up by the center of the big metal crossmember bar just in front of the oil pan in the center, then put jackstands on the frame rails towards the front on each side. I hope that made sense.

err the rear on your pic is right but the front is tough to get to on some slightly lower cars so i pointed out a good structural point to get to from the sides.

what about for a central point though? its annoying having to ajck up either side. but the back ones are right? the big flat beam that goes accross?

edit: and hows the underside of my car look? im replacing thr cats and headers with rb products so no need to worry about them.. anything under there look shotty?

I know that icemark, but thanks.

the little white man doesnt not point out a specific point where to put the jack, only a geberal area. there are many places to put a jack where you shouldnt so i was just makin sure. ever tried jamming a jack into your oil pan? yeah me neither but yhis way nobody ever will :P

It calls out exactly where to put the jack, You do not see the lettering that says
At the center of the crossmember
for the front central location???

Or how about the
on either frame rail
Or
At the differential
????

yea, well the little guy isn't all that correct anyways unless you want crunched pinch bars, only takes a minor stressed point and they don't take kindly to being jacked in that area.

Pinch bars???

Jack positions are all exactly correct in those diagrams.

Maybe you are confusing a jacking location with a safety stand position (two different things- you do not jack up the car at a safety stand location).

most people do not use the stock jack to jack up the car, unless you have a jack with a U groove specifically for jacking up these types of cars they will crush the rails(the rails i refer to as pinch bars where the body is welded together about 3 inches from the outside edge of the body). so i do not suggest jacking at those points unless you are very careful. (reference is picture 6 and 7)

their pictures of jacking up the car by the crossmember and differential, hmmm, i wasn't able to get my jack to those points even when it was stock height.

Yeah, Hmmm I thought it is pretty common sense that you use either the stock jack or a 2x4 with a slot cut into it to fit around the side sills if you are jacking on the side sills
