!!!!!!!!!!SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

swapping an entire gxl drivetrain, d/shaft, rear end, 1/2shafts, cradle
is pretty much your cheapest option

but define decent LSD for a decent price, do you mean used/decent? or do you mean cheap? cuz cheap and limited slip are like oil and water

Define decent price... some people would consider $500 a decent price for a LSD

You can't. A turbo LSD won't fit into a non turbo differential. You would need to replace the entire differential as well as have a custom drive shaft made and use Turbo half shafts to use a Turbo differential on a non turbo car.

I can get you LSD at a decent price just kidding, i'm clean.
Miata LSD fits in the NA pumpkin i think
They make a few different types for the NA rear end and a few more for the turbo rear end.
Spend the money and go Torsen LSD

if I got a S5 lsd is it a straight swap into the mounting holes etc for the NA diff ?? do I need to upgrade the axials or anything as well ?? or is it easier (and stronger) to get the whole S5 rear sub frame

Also yes I know the drive shaft lengths are different, I have a turbo box at the moment as I would change the drive shaft to a turbo one, the one I currently have is shortened to suit the NA open diff

also is this the best swap to do ?? what about a S6 rear end, is it possiable ? Id be lookign to spend about 500-750 on the swap

I am having the same problem....finding an inexpensive lsd. I did the auto-manual swap without swapping the diff. So now I have a diff off of an automatic, which is geared different. So with the automatic diff and the 5spd tranny my car has no low end, but tons of high end torque. However, I am a poor college student......what is the most inexpensive way to get an lsd??? (other than stealing one)

here ya go http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Helic...spagenameZWDVW

you need to have a t2 differential to put into though. I just put this into my diff. I haven't driven my 7 yet.

well that doesn't really help as it wont fit our NA diff's..... (will it ??)

we would have to change to a T2 Lsd then upgrade to a TORSEN.
But I want to know how just to get to the LSD bit of the change, then go form their.

Well only two models of the S5 FC came with a LSD (the GTUs model, and the Turbo- both of which together, there were less than 10,000 made) so I'd be pretty damm skeptical that it really is a LSD unless you got it yourself from a turbo or GTUs (not a S5 GTU- only a S5 GTUs).

A turbo diff assembly would fit, but again would require a custom drive shaft, and Turbo half shafts to work on a non turbo. Other than those rather important things it is pretty much a bolt in as far as locations.

There is no way without major fabrication that a FD differential housing would fit, but the internal differential itself could be used in a Turbo FC housing.

Cool, I know its a S5 turbo LSD, Im in Oz so we may have more then you yanks ?? but I know it is.

So if I get the drive shaft and the Diff it should be a straight swap right

Then when I get more money I'll put the Torsen into the end of it *waiting to get my new ported engine*

But are my axials to the wheels weaker / crapper then the S5 LSD ones ?? what will be my next weak link so to speak ?

Been awhile, but you'll need the TII flywheel, clutch assembly, starter, slave cyl, and at the rear you'll need the half shafts from the TII.

You still need the rear axles.
The turbo axles have a wider bolt spacing flange than the NA's.

Since you're using the turbo trans with the 1" input shaft, you'd need at least a turbo clutch disc, since the NA clutch disc (and trans input shaft) is 7/8" - i.e. smaller.

Ah, I didn't see that you were down under... ignore then my comments on whcih models came with what. The JDM/AUS/NZ models had all kinds of packages and options that the US ones didn't.
