Anywhere besides mazdatrix that sells decent ones for pretty cheap? I'm on a budget but I don't want crap. Thanks.

ebay: scalliwag performance

they sell solid aluminum motor mounts for about $50 and transmission mounts for about $30
I have both of them on my 87 GXL and I can notice the improved torque
the downside: your car vibrates like a biatch, any loose bolts in your dash will reveal themselves quite easily, and you can hear your driveline whirring beneath the center console. They, in my opinion, are better than your stock rubber mounts, maybe even better than those aftermarket hardened rubber mounts...

This may sound stupied but what I used to do when I was on a budget I would bake the mounts I used to do this to every rubber mount or endlink or bushing on the whole car. And it works i notticed a big diffrence but this was on a Volkswagen i didnt do it to my FC yet. You have to bake them slow at a low temp for best results. No this is not a cooking show

that's cool if it worked though. sounds like it should be in one of those home remedy books or something. with the info on this forum, you could probably write one of those books for an fc

Rubber gets hard when it is heated then cooled rubber is rubber. If it was something else i would say no but it will get hard. And i learned this from so SCCA racers some of them do this because the class there in dont let you change things like that everything has to be stock or apear stock anyway they never said you couldnt put them in an oven

When you heat rubber, it deteriorates, and then your mounts break.

Yeah If you over heat and dont know what your doing. I didnt say for people to do this I was just saying what I have seen on hand work for Tons of people. Theres a hole chapter on doning this in the VW Sport Compact Performance Hand Book by RB publishing. So if you wanna know exactly how to do this read it on there.
