Where to find NPT Plugs and Tap for TB Mod

Guys,
I am looking to do the TB mod, and in reted's description he says to use 1/8 NPT plugs. I found a couple places (online) that have them, but no taps.

A) do I really need to use 1.8 NPT, or would a "normal" plug work with a normal tap?

B) If the NPT is the best way to go, where in the world can I find a tap for them? Maybe I am asking the worng questions to the sales guys, or they are mornons, not sure which. I tried the autoparts palces, homedepot and Ace. Lowes may be next.

What do you guys normally get to do this? I jsut want to make sure I have all the pieces ready before I start

Any place that has a tap selection should have 1/8 NPT. They may call it 1/8 pipe thread.
I can send you a couple....

what is NPT? I think I read it stood for National Pipe Thread right? Is it just some standard thread count and pitch?

I might take you up on it if I can't get something locally.

but, as long as you get a plug that will fit what you tap it should work right?

That is part of my question I guess. I am not sure why the HOW-TO specifically mentions NPT plugs. I would assume if you found 1/8 plug (metric?) you coudl use a reqular tap. Tell you the truth I couldn't find a 1/8 REGULAR tap. they had sizes smaller and larger.

I assume other haev done this withotu usign the NPT style plugs. Probably people out there that have used JB Weld or something as well.

yeah. the specified 1/8 NPT 27 crap they ask for couldn't be found at my local homedepot. So my options are to use a different size, use JB weld, or my more creative solution is to stick a bolt through using the head (and JB Weld or silicone) to seal off the top and simply put a nut on the other side. then cut off the excess.

the last option (my way) is the best because it doesnt have to be permanent (if you use silicone). you can always put back the extra plates if you want because you dont have to tap/drill or use jb weld.
