Where is the FCD Located?

I am getting the rtek1.7 and I was wondering where the fcd is thats in my car now is located and do I put the stock one back in because of the rtek or do I leave the Racing beat one in?

Same thing. MAP = manifold absolute pressure sensor, it's full and correct name.

Since you are unsure of the fcd location, are you sure you have one? It is not a stock item.

There is no stock FCD!

Are you sure that's what it is? Normally they're either plugged into the MAP sensor plug or wired in directly at the ECU. The glove box is an odd location...

Unless he means the stock MAP sensor, and somebody just plugged the FCD in and took out the pressure sensor?

Possible? Maybe..

What does the stock piece look like? The one that is in the glove compartment is not hooked up and it looks just like the RB one. Two connectors, small square, black box.

Wow, triple play! LOL, the stock pressure sensor has a little vacuum nipple on the bottom, and a metal rod coming out of the top, and it'll have a label that says N33x on it or something similar. It sounds like you've possibily got two FCD'S? A FCD is just a box (some have labels, some don't), with a harness coming out that has two connectors on it and connects inbetween the stock pressure sensor (bolted to the passanger strut tower), and the stock engine harness.

yeah, forum gets whacky sometimes. Pop your hood and peak at your pressure sensor (on the passanger strut tower) See if you can trace the wiring back and find another box located near it. Is there any writing on the box in your glovebox? (wow, lots of box)

its on the passanger shock tower under the hood, its about 2 inch by 2 inches and its black. if it has the harnedd from the car plugged into it directly then you are not running a FCD. if there is a box spliced into it then chances are you have a FCD.

Which part of "there is no stock FCD" did you not understand?
